Every piece of DEW jewellery is designed and crafted with care, and with a little bit of love from you, its beauty will last for a very long time. Here are some simple tips to keep your jewellery looking its best.
For a regular clean, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft, non-abrasive cloth (like a microfibre or a jewellery polishing cloth). If needed, you can use a little lukewarm water and a mild, neutral soap, making sure to rinse and dry the piece completely and carefully afterwards.
Some of our pieces, like the Dew Drop, Lunaria Seed, and Cloud necklaces, feature a very fine and delicate chain. This chain is chosen specifically for its beautiful, light-catching sparkle. Because it is so fine, it is more delicate than a thicker chain and needs to be handled with a little extra care to avoid tangling or snapping.
Our gold and black rhodium plated pieces have a layer of precious metal over a solid 925 sterling silver base. Plating is a wonderful way to add colour and style, but it needs a little extra care to protect the finish. To keep your plated jewellery looking beautiful for as long as possible, it’s very important to avoid direct contact with certain things.
A good rule of thumb is that your jewellery should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off at night.
When you're not wearing your jewellery, the best place for it is in its original DEW box or a soft pouch. Storing pieces separately is very important as it prevents them from getting scratched, tangled, or tarnished.
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time when exposed to air. This is not a fault, but a natural property of the metal. For your solid silver (non-plated) pieces, you can easily restore their shine using a special silver polishing cloth.
