For DEW, sustainability isn't about having all the answers right now; it's a deep commitment and a continuous journey. Building a more environmentally and ethically conscious brand is incredibly important to me, and it's something I'm actively working on every single day. My goal is to contribute positively by carefully considering every step of the process—from design and sourcing to production and packaging.
I believe in transparency, so it's important for me to say that DEW is not yet a fully sustainable brand. Like many small businesses, I face challenges, especially in sourcing materials like ethically verified gemstones, which is why I've used them sparingly in my collections so far. However, I am dedicated to learning, improving, and finding better solutions step by step.
A core pillar of my design philosophy – and my commitment to sustainability – is timelessness. I believe in creating beautiful, enduring pieces that you can cherish for years, rather than contributing to the throwaway culture of fast fashion. Designing for longevity, both in style and quality, is a fundamental way to encourage thoughtful consumption.
DEW jewellery is brought to life by skilled artisans here in Torino who share my values of quality and craftsmanship. Each piece is hand-finished with care and attention to detail. By working closely with local craftspeople, we support traditional skills and ensure a more responsible production process.
I intentionally focus on creating jewellery in small, considered batches rather than mass production. This thoughtful approach allows me to maintain high standards of quality and significantly reduces waste and the environmental strain associated with large-scale manufacturing.
In the jewellery-making process, we strive to ensure nothing goes to waste. Every scrap of metal from casting or finishing is carefully collected and recycled, ensuring that materials are used responsibly. This commitment to circularity is a key part of creating pieces that are both beautiful and mindful.
Sustainability is an ongoing process of learning and improvement. I am constantly seeking innovative ways to reduce DEW's environmental impact and make more ethical choices. Thank you for being part of this journey.
